The Mercy Seat

Today’s sermon focuses in on the Mercy Seat; it’s the place where atonement access to the promises of God are kept. The Tabernacle and Temple had a physical representation of it as the lid of the Ark of the Covenant. Within the new Covenant, we see the Mercy Seat as a representation of Christ as the Mediator, Access Point and Atonement for sin for us. We also discuss the purpose of the “incense” to be burning before the Mercy Seat which is our fervent worship and our prayers.
